简介:Infraredphotodetectorshavebeenusedextensivelyinbiomedicine,surveillance,communicationandastronomy.However,stateofthearttechnologybasedonIII-VandII-VIcompoundsstilllacksexcellentperformanceforhigh-temperatureoperation.Surfaceplasmonpolaritons(SPPs)havedemonstratedtheircapabilityinimprovingthelightdetectionfromvisibletoinfraredwaverangeduetotheirlightconfinementinsubwavelengthscale.Advancedfabricationtechniquessuchaselectron-beamlithography(EBL)andfocusedion-beam(FIB),andcommerciallyavailablenumericaldesigntoollikeFinite-DifferenceTime-Domain(FDTD)haveenabledrapiddevelopmentofsurfaceplasmon(SP)enhancedphotodetectors.Inthisreviewarticle,thebasicmechanismsbehindtheSP-enhancedphotodetection,thedifferenttypeofplasmonicnanostructuresutilizedforenhancement,andthereportedSP-enhancedinfraredphotodetectorswillbediscussed.

简介:Thequantumvibrationalenergy-spectraincludinghighexcitedstatesoftheproteinmoleculeshavebeencalculatedbynewtheoryofbio-energytransportalongtheproteinmoleculesanditsdynamicequation,discretenonlinearSchrodingerequation,appropriatetotheproteinmoleculesonthebasisofthelevelofmolecularstructure.Thisenergy-spectraobtainedarebasicallyconsistentwiththeexperimentalvaluesbyinfraredabsorptionandradiatedmeasurementofperson'shandsandlaser-RamanspectrumfrommetabolicallyactiveE.Coli..Fromthisenergy-spectraweknowthattheinfraredlightswith(1-3)x1000nmand(5-7)x1000nmwavelengthcanbeabsorbedbytheproteinmoleculesinthelivingsystems.Inaccordancewiththenon-lineartheoryofthebio-energytransportweknowthattheenergyoftheinfraredlightabsorbedbytheproteinscanresultinvibrationsofamide-Iinaminoacidsandcanfacilitatethebio-energytransportalongtheproteinmolecularchainsfromoneplacetootherforthegrowthoflivingbodies.Thisprocesseisnon-thermal.Thisisjustnon-thermaleffectoftheinfraredlights.Accordingtothemechanismweexplainedfurtherthemedicalfunctionsoftheinfraredlightsabsorbed.

简介:Micro-bolometerpixelisanessentialelementintheinfraredfocalplanearray(IRFPA)ofinfrareddetectors.Itsresponsetoinfraredradiationisanalyzedinthispaper.Thepixelstructureismodeledasacompositelaminatethinplatewhosesidesaremeasuredwiththethicknessfrom0.1-1μm.Itsmiddleplyisaferroelectricthinfilm.Itstopsurfaceiscoveredwithagoldorplatinuminfraredabsorber,whilethebottomsurfaceisdepositedwithplatinumorlanthanum-nickel.Meanwhilebothsurfacesareapairofelectrodes.Thetopsurfacereceivesinfraredradiationpulsessuccessively.Fortheverytinymicrobolometerpixel,itisassumedthattheinfraredradiationisuniformlydistributedontheplate.Furthermore,astheratioofthesidelengthtothethicknessoftheplateisdramaticallylarge,itisassumedthatheattransferonlytakesplaceacrossthethicknessoftheplate.Thethermal-electric-mechanicalcouplinggoverningequationsaresolvedinaformofFourierseries.Resultsofthedisplacement,temperaturevariationandelectricoutputsignalsofthemicrobolometerpixelstructureunderinfraredradiationareobtained,analyzedandcomparedwithexperimentaldata.
