简介:Thispaperpresentstheresultsofanexperimentalstudyfocusedonthepropagationofdam-breakflowwavesovermovablebeds.Testsconsistedinthesuddenopeningofaverticallift-gatewhichseparatedinitialwaterandsedimentlevelsupstreamanddownstreamofthegate.Theyallowedthesimulationofthefollowinginitialconditions:withorwithoutinitialbed-stepatthegatecross-section;withorwithoutwaterdownstreamofthegate;withorwithoutsedimentsdownstreamofthegate.Testresultswereusedtodiscusstheinfluenceofthemovablebedonthecelerityofthewave-fronts,aswellasonthedownstreamwave-frontheight.Thetotalvolumeofdislodgedsedimentswasalsoassessed.Someimportantconclusionswereachieved:i)themovablebeddoesnotaffecttheupstreamwave-frontceleritybutitaffectsthecelerityofthedownstreamwave-front;ii)theexperimentalceleritiesshowsomedisagreementwiththeanalyticalsolutions;iii)theexistenceofaninitialbed-stepatthelift-gatecross-sectioninfluencesthedownstreamwave-frontpropagation,includingthewaterdepth.
