简介：Thispaperaddressesthefreetransversevibrationsofthinsimplysupportednonhomogeneousisotropicrectangularplatesofbilinearlyvaryingthicknesswithelasticallyrestrainededgesagainstrotation.TheGram-Schmidtprocesshasbeenusedtogeneratetwo-dimensionalboundarycharacteristicorthogonalpolynomials,whichhavebeenusedintheRayleigh-Ritzmethodtostudytheproblem.Thelowestthreefrequencieshavebeencomputedforvariousvaluesofnonhomogeneousparameters,thicknessparameters,aspectratioandflexibilityparameters.Acomparisonoftheresultswiththoseavailableintheliteraturehasbeenmade.Three-dimensionalmodeshapesforthespecifiedplatehavebeenpresented.
