APlasmaSurfaceInteraction(PSI)experimentonChinaLowActivationMarten-sitic(CLAM)steelwasdonetocheckifCLAMsteelcouldbeusedasaPlasmaFacingMaterial(PFM).Aspecimenwithadiameterof45mmwasexposedto897shotsofdeuteriumplasmaswithatotaldurationof712secataminorradiusof30cminHT-7tokamak.Duringtheexpo-sureexperiment,noobservableinfluencewasfoundonplasmaperformance.Afterexposure,thesurfaceofthespecimenseemedassmoothasbeforebutwithsomecolourchangeatthemarginofthespecimen.Eventhoughsomemicro-damage,suchasdenseblisters,melting,splashing,depositions,anddust,wasfoundonlocalsurfaceswithScanningElectronMicroscopic(SEM)observation.Thereflectivityofthespecimendecreasedonlyslightly.AlloftheseshowsCLAMsteelhasgoodstabilityandirradiationresistance.Withfurtheroptimization,itcouldpossiblybeusedasthefirstmirrormaterialforplasmadiagnosticsintokamaks.
