Byovercomingfabricationlimitations,wehavesuccessfullyfabricatedsilicatoroidmicrocavitieswithbothlargediameter(of1.88mm)andultra-high-Qfactor(of3.3×10~8)forthefirsttime,tothebestofourknowledge.Byemployingtheseresonators,wehavefurtherdemonstratedlow-thresholdKerrfrequencycombsonasiliconchip,whichallowustoobtainarepetitionrateaslowas36GHz.Suchalowrepetitionratefrequencycombcannowbedirectlymeasuredthroughacommercializedoptical-electronicdetector.
