ImmersedtunnelisanimportantpartoftheHongKong–Zhuhai–MacaoBridge(HZMB)project.Inimmersedtunnelfloating,translationwhichincludesstraightandtransversemovementsisthemainworkingmode.Todecidethemagnitudeanddirectionofthetowingforceforeachtug,aparticleswarm-basedtranslationcontrolmethodispresentedfornon-powerimmersedtunnelelement.Asortoflinearweightedlogarithmicfunctionisexploitedtoavoidweaksubgoals.Insimulation,theparticleswarm-basedcontrolmethodisevaluatedandcomparedwithtraditionalempiricalmethodinthecaseoftheHZMBproject.Simulationresultsshowthatthepresentedmethoddeliversperformanceimprovementintermsoftheenhancedsurplustowingforce.
