Studyofgeothermalfielddata,terrestrialheatflowvalues,andothergeophysicaldatafromtheXingtai-ShuluareaofHebeiProvincemadeusmoreunderstandingofthedistributionofgeothermalfieldsanddeepstructuresandtheirinterrelation.Thestudyillustratesthatthegeothermalfieldhasanapparentlateralinhomogeneityandisevidentlycorrelatedbythestructureofthecrustanduppermantleinthearea.Therelationofthegeothermalfielddistributiontothestructureindicatesthatincomparisonwiththedepressionzone,theupliftzonehasahigherheatflowvalueandalargergeothermalgradient.Theanalysisoftherelationbetweendistributionofearthquakeepicentersandgeothermalfieldandmathematicalsimulationofthermalstressintheareasuggeststhatthermalstressplaysanimportantroleintheprocessofearthquakegeneration.
