TheJidongareaislocatedonthenorthmarginoftheNorthChinacraton.ItisanucleuscomposedoftheoldestrocksinChina.PrecambrianmetamorphicrockswithvariousPhanerozoicgranitoidsinvadedarewidespread.Golddepositsherehaveclosespatialrelationstogranitoids.Somedepositsoccurwithinthemandothersintheouterzoneofthecontactbeltoftheintrusion,extendingthousandsofmetres.Therehavebeencontroversialviewsinregardtotherelationsofthedepositstotheintrusionsalthoughtraditionaltechniqueshavebeenusedtodatetheintrusions.Inordertosolvesuchaproblem,theSHRIMPtechniquewasadoptedtodatetheU-PbagesofzirconcollectedfromtheYueryaintrusionwhichhoststhelarge-sizedYueryaAudepositandQingshankouintrusion2kmawayfromtheJinchangyu(larger-sized)Audeposit.Analysisshowsthattheagesof175±1Maand174±3MaforYueryaintrusionandtheageof199±2MaforQingshankougraniteindicatetheEarlyYanshanianstageoftheMeso-
