ObjectivesToob-servetheeffectofdifferentestrogenlevelsonthesecretoryfunctionofvascularendothelialcellsoffemalerats,andstudytheeffectofmodulationofestrogenlevelontheexpressionofvascularcelladhesionmolecule-1andtheconcentrationofestrogenreceptorinvascularendothelialcells.MethodsRadioim-munologywasusedtomeasuretheserumconcentrationofendothelinandPGI2,andcopper-cadmiumreductionwasemployedtomeasuretheserumcontentofnitrogenmonoxide.Radioligandbindingandflowcy-tometrywereusedtomeasuretheexpressionofestrogenreceptorandvascularcelladhesionmolecule(VCAM-1)ofvascularendothelialcellsrespectively.Results1.TheserumconcentrationofnitricoxideandPGI2decreasedwhentheovariesoffemaleratswereremoved.Inovariectomizedrats,givenestrogen,theconcentrationrose(P<0.05),buttheplasmaconcentrationofendothelinwasadversetoit.2.Theconcentrationofestrogenreceptorofvascularendothelialcel
