Viscosityofsoda-lime-silicateglassdopedwithrareearthoxides(Pr6O11,Eu2O3,Yb2O3)wasinvestigatedbytherotatingcrucibleviscometer,themeltingtemperatureandactivationenergyforviscousflowofthestudiedmeltwerederivedonthebasisoftheArrheniusEquation,thecoefficientofthermalexpansion,glasstransitiontemperatureanddilatometricsofteningtemperaturewerealsodeterminedwithdilatometry,inordertorevealtheeffectsofrareearthelementsonthebehaviorofsoda-lime-silicateglass.Theresultsshowedthatintroductionofrareearthoxidesdecreasedtheviscosityofsoda-lime-silicateglassandmeltingtemperatureofcorrespondingmelt,increasedcoefficientofthermalexpansionofsoda-lime-silicateglass.Theglasstransitiontemperature,dilatometricsofteningtemperature,andmeltingtemperatureofsoda-lime-silicateglassdopedwithrareearthoxidesincreasedwithincreasingcationicfieldstrengthofcorrespondingrareearthions.
