Thispaperproposesanovelexemplar-basedmethodforreducingnoiseincomputedtomography(CT)images.Intheproposedmethod,denoisingisperformedoneachblockwiththehelpofagivendatabaseofstandardimageblocks.Foreachnoisyblock,itsdenoisedversionisthebestsparsepositivelinearcombinationoftheblocksinthedatabase.Weformulatetheproblemasaconstrainedoptimizationproblemsuchthatthesolutionisthedenoisedblock.Experimentalresultsdemonstratethegoodperformanceoftheproposedmethodovercurrentstate-of-the-artdenoisingmethods,intermsofbothobjectiveandsubjectiveevaluations.
