HightemperatureoxidationbehavioroftwokindsofnitridebondedSiCbasedrefractorieswasinvestigatedat11001500℃bymeansofX-raydiffractometer,scanningelectronicmicroscopyandthermogravimetry.Theresultsshowthat:(1)withthetemperatureincreasing,theoxidationmassincrementrateofthespecimenincreasesfirstandthendecreases,andoxidationpassivationoccurs;(2)theoxidationresistanceofSiAlONbondedSiCrefractoriesissuperiortothatofSi3N4bondedSiCrefractories;(3)hightemperatureoxidationresultsintheincreaseofcompressivestrengthatroomtemperatureofSiCbasedrefractoriescomparedwithspecimenbeforeoxidation;thecompressivestrengthofSiAlONbondedSiCspecimensoxidizedathightemperaturesdecreaseswiththeincreaseofthetemperatureasaresultofformationandburstofsurfacebubble,whilethedecreaseofcompressivestrengthofSi3N4bondedSiCspecimensoxidizedathightemperaturesisowingtotheincreaseoftheconsistencyofnet-likecrackassociatedwithcristobalitetransformationduringcooling.
