Movable electrowetting optofluidic lens for optical axial scanning in microscopy

摘要 Opticalaxialscanningisessentialprocesstoobtain3Dinformationofbiologicalspecimens.Torealizeopticalaxialscanningwithoutmoving,thetunablelensisasolution.However,theconventionaltunablelensesusuallyinducenon-uniformmagnificationandresolutionissues.Inthispaper,wereportamovableelectrowettingoptofluidiclens.Unliketheconventionaltunablelens,ourproposedoptofluidiclenshastwoliquid-liquid(L-L)interfaces,whichcanmoveinthecellbyanexternalvoltage.TheobjectdistanceandimagedistanceareadjustedbyshiftingtheL-Linterfaceposition.Therefore,theproposedlenscanrealizeopticalaxialscanningwithuniformmagnificationandresolutioninmicroscopy.Toprovetheconcept,wefabricateanoptofluidiclensanduseitinopticalaxialscanning.Thescanningdistanceismorethan1mmwithuniformmagnificationandgoodimagingquality.Widespreadapplicationofsuchanewadaptivezoomlensisforeseeable.
