TheZEUSexperimenthasmigrateditsreconstructionandanalysisfarmstoaPC-basedenvironment.Morethanoneyearofexperiencehasbeenacquiredwithsuccessfuloperationofananalysisfarmdesignedforseveralhundredusers.Speciallydesignedsoftwarehasbeenusedtoproveidefastandreliableaccesstolargeamountsofdata(30TBintotal),AftertheongoingupgradeoftheHERAluminosity,higherrequirementswillariseintermsofdatastoragecapacityandthroughputrate,Thenecessityofabiggerdiskcachehasledtoconsiderationofsolutionsbasedoncommoditytechnology,PC-basedfileserversarebeingtestedasacost-effectivestoragesystem,Inthisarticlewepresentthehardwareandsoftwaresolutionsdeplogyedanddiscusstheirperformance.scalabilityandmaintenanceissues.
