  • 简介:EasternChinaandvicinalseaareas(98°~150°E,5°~50°N)arelocatedinthejunctionzoneofEurasianandPacificplates,anditisalsoprofoundlyinfluencedbythecollisionbetweenIndianandEurasianplates.Weutilizedsurfacewavedatarecordedby35digitalseismicstationsinthearea,extracteddispersioncurvesoffundamental-modeRayleighwavesalong1252pathsbymeansoftime-frequencyanalysisbasedonmultiple-filterandothertech-niques.Thestudyareawasdividedintoagridof1°′1°,groupvelocitydistributionsoffundamentalRayleighwavesbetween10~158sweredeterminedbyOccam¢sinversion.Thesevelocitydistributionsroughlydepictthelateralvariationsofshearwavevelocitiesindifferentdepthranges.WiththedeterminedpurepathdispersionswefurtherinvertedfortheSwavevelocitystructuresalongtwoprofilesfromeasternTibettoPacificOceanandfromSouthChinaSeatoMongolia.Itisfoundthatthelateralheterogeneityisobviousdownto400kmdepth,andthevelocitystructuresarecorrelatedwithtectonicunitsinthestudyarea.

  • 简介:Morethanahalfofstrongearthquakesintheworldarelocatedinshallowdepthatthesubductingplateboundaryinsqueezedzones.Owingtothedifferenceinspeedbetweenthemovingseaplates,thestrainenergyisaccumulatedandreleasedcyclicallyinsqueezedzones.Severalmethodsweredevelopedtoanalyzethemedium-andshort-termpotentialofmainshocks.Thesemethodscanbeclassifiedinto(1)lessdatasystemsusingthetheoryofgreymodelforearthquakeprediction,(2)quasi-periodicsystemsusingearthquakeactivityanalysis,(3)systemsofgroupedactivityusingorderanalysis,and(4)nonlinearsystemsusingbackpropagation(BP)ofneuralnetworkforpredictionanalysis.Basedupontheseanalyticmethods,riskmapsforthepredictionofstrongearthquakescanbedrawnusingtherecordsofstrongearthquakesinTaiwanforthepast100years.Theseriskmapsinclude(1)aseismicriskmap,(2)alossriskmap,(3)ahazarddegreemap,and(4)alossdegreemap.Theseriskmapsmakeitpossibletodoamedium-termpredictionofmainshocksonthe10-yearscale.

  • 简介:TheTanlu(Tancheng-Lujiang)faultisoneofthemajorstructuresineasternChina,whichcutsacrossdifferentblocksandcontrolsthetectonicactivity.UsingtheseismicdatafromtheChinaEarthquakeNetworksCenter,weinvestigatethespatialvariationsoftheb-valueintheDabie-Sulu(Jiangsu-Shandong)organicbeltbycalculatingtheb-valueofeachgrid(1°×1°)from1970to2010.Thestudyshowsthat:theb-valueissmallerintheTanlufaultanditsadjacentarea,whichmightsuggestthatthemajorearthquakerecurrenceperiodisrelativelylongduetothelowerfrequencyofsmallearthquakeactivity.InbothsidesofTanlufault,theb-valueishigherattheedgeofSulublockandtheeasternpartofDabieorogenicbelt.ThebvaluesarehigherinNorthChinacentralorogenicbelt,andsmallearthquakeactivitywhichoccurredalongthecentralorogenicbeltisfrequent.Additionally,combinedwithgeologicalandgeophysicalstudy,wefindthattheb-valuehasacertaincorrespondencerelationshipwiththelithologicdistribution,whichinformsusthatseismicactivityfeaturesarecloselyrelatedtotheinhomogeneousmediainthecrust.

  • 简介:Theparametersofhypocentrallocationareimportantfundamentaldataforthestudyofseismologyandtheearthinteriorphysics;amongthem,thefocaldepthisaveryimportantonebutcanhardlybemeasuredwithhigherprecision.Withtheincreaseofseismicstationsinnumber,theheighteningofobservationqualityandtheimprovementofdeterminationmethod,suchasituationhasbeenchangedmuch.Inthispaper,theresultsofhypocentrallocationandre-locationby7small-aperturedigitalseismicstationnetworksatTangshan,ZhangbeiandHuailaiofHebeiProvince,DatongofShanxiProvinceandJianchuan,LuquanandYao'anofYunnanProvinceareused.Usingtheseresultstogetherwiththoseoffocaldepthinversionbyfar-fielddataofsomeindividuallargeshocksincorrespondingareasandthosere-determinedbytheLinfentelemeteredseismicnetworkofShanxiProvince,acomparisonwiththeresultsoffocaldepthdeterminationinthepastearthquakecataloguesismade.Itisfoundoutthatthefocaldepthsdeterminedbythesmall-apertureseismicnetworksarebasicallydistributedintherangefromtheearthsurfacetoten-oddkilometersunderground.Incontrast,thefocaldepthsdeterminedinthepastaremostlydistributedatthedepthrangefromtheearthsurfaceto30kmunderground.Besides,thereisadifferenceof50%to100%betweentheaveragevaluesofthetwocases,whichisquiteanobviousone.Fromtheresultofanalysis,itisconsideredthattheresultsdeterminedbythesmall-apertureseismicnetworksmaybeclosertotherealityoffocaldepthsdistribution.Thatistosay,earthquakesintheabove-mentionedareasshouldbedistributedintheshallowpartofthecrust.Thecausesthatleadtotheabovesituationarediscussedpreliminarily,andsomesuggestionsandmeasuresforimprovingtheprecisionoffocaldepthdeterminationareputforward.

  • 简介:Basedon49digitalseismogramsrecordedby73seismicstationsintheJiangsuTelemeteredSeismicNetwork,thepaperusesAtkinson'smethodtocalculatetheinelasticattenuationcoefficientoftheJiangsuarea.Wefindthatthefrequency-dependentQintheJiangsuregionisQ(f)=272.1·f~(0.5575).WealsouseMoya'smethodtoinvertthe63stations'siteresponses.Theresultsshowthatthesiteresponsesofthe25stationsinJiangsuareapproximately1atarangebetween1Hzand20Hz,whichisconsistentwiththeirbasementsonrocks.Theresponsecurvesofthesiteresponsesofthe14undergroundstationsaresimilartoeachother.Theirsiteresponsesshowanamplificationatlowfrequenciesandminimizationathighfrequencies.ThecalculationoftheBrunemodelonthewaveformdataofM_L≥2.5earthquakesfromJiangsuDigitalSeismicNetworkbetweenOctober2010andMay2015intermsofseismicsourceparametersof58seismicwavesshowsthattherearegoodcorrelationsbetweenseismicmagnitudeandothersourceparameterssuchasseismicmoment,sourceradiusandcornerfrequency,whilethecorrelationsbetweenseismicmagnitudeandstressdrop,andstressdropandsourceradiusarenotsogood.

  • 简介:Two-monthcontinuouswaveformsof108broadbandseismicstationsinFujianProvinceanditsadjacentareasareusedtocomputenoisecross-correlationfunction(NCF).ThesignalqualityofNCFisimprovedviatheapplicationoftime-frequencyphaseweightedstacking.TheRayleighandLovewavesgroupvelocitiesbetween1s-20saremeasuredonthesymmetricalcomponentoftheNCFwiththemultiplefiltermethod.Morethan5,000Rayleighwavedispersioncurvesandabout4,000Lovewavedispersioncurvesareobtainedandusedtoinvertforgroupvelocitymaps.Thisdatasetprovidesabout50kmresolutionthatisdemonstratedwithcheckerboardtests.Consideringtheoffgreatcircleeffectininhomogeneousmedium,theraypathistracedbasedonthetraveltimefieldcomputedwithafinitedifferencemethod.Theinvertedgroupvelocitymapsshowgoodcorrelationwiththegeologicalfeaturesintheupperandmiddlecrust.TheFuzhoubasinandZhangzhoubasinshowedlowvelocityontheshortperiodgroupvelocitymaps.Onthelongperiodgroupvelocitymaps,thelowvelocityanomalyinthehighheatflowregionnearZhangzhouandclearvelocitycontrastacrosstheZhenghe-Dapufaults,whichsuggeststhattheZhenghe-Dapufaultmightbeadeepfault.

  • 简介:OnJuly22,2013,theMinxian-ZhangxianM_S6.6earthquakeoccurredontheeastsegmentofLintan-Dangchangfault.TheanalysisofdigitalelevationandremotesensingimagingshowsthattheeastsegmentofLintan-Dangchangfaultisstillactiveandthemainthrustfeatureofthefaultswitchestoleftlateralslip.Withthefieldresearchofintensityanddamage,severalabnormalareasofdegreeⅧspreadintheisoseismallineofdegreeⅦandsomeabnormalareasofdegreeⅦspreadintheisoseismallineofdegreeⅥ.Theseabnormalareasaredistributedalongthehangingwallofthefaultinawidthof2km.TheanalysisbasedontheremotesensinganddigitalelevationmodelshowsthatthesegmentoftheLintan-DangchangfaultsouthofMinxianmainlyslipsinleftliteral.Thefaultmovementmadethesoilsoftinthefaultzone.Theearthquakemotionpropagatedalongthefaultzone.Thereforethestrongearthquakemotioncausedfoundationfailureinthesoftsoilalongthefaultzoneandtheabnormalintenseareasofdisasterformed.
