简介:Thepolarizationevolutionofvectorbeams(VBs)generatedbyq-platesisinvestigatedtheoreticallyandexperimentally.AnanalyticalmodelisdevelopedfortheVBcreatedbyageneralquarter-waveq-platebasedonvectordiffractiontheory.ItisfoundthatthepolarizationdistributionofVBsvarieswithpositionandthevalueq.Inparticular,fortheincidenceofcircularpolarization,theexitvectorvortexbeamhaspolarizationstatesthatcoverthewholesurfaceofthePoincarésphere,therebyconstitutingafullPoincarébeam.Fortheincidenceoflinearpolarization,theVBisnotcylindricalbutspecularlysymmetric,andexhibitsanazimuthalspinsplitting.Theseresultsareinsharpcontrastwiththosederivedbythecommonlyusedmodel,i.e.,regardingtheincidentlightasaplanewave.Byimplementingq-plateswithdielectricmetasurfaces,furtherexperimentsvalidatethetheoreticalresults.

简介:LetAbearealsquarematrixandVTAV=GbeanupperHessenbergmatrixwithpositivesubdiagonalentries,whereVisanorthogonalmatrix.ThentheimplicitQ-theoremstatesthatoncethefirstcolumnofVisgiventhenVandGareuniquelydetermined.Inthispaper,threeresultsareestablished.First,itholdsareverseorderimplicitQ-theorem:oncethelastcolumnofVisgiven,thenVandGareuniquelydeterminedtoo.Second,itisprovedthatforaKrylovsubspacetwoformulationsoftheArnoldiprocessareequivalentandinonetoonecorrespondence.Finally,bytheequivalencerelationandthereverseorderimplicitQ-theorem,itisprovedthatfortheKrylovsubspace,ifthelastvectorofvectorsequencegeneratedbytheArnoldiprocessisgiven,thenthevectorsequenceandresultingHessenbergmatrixareuniquelydetermined.

简介:A459nmFaradayanomalousdispersionopticalfilter(FADOF)workingatthesidewingsofthecesium6S1∕2→7P1∕2transitionwithweakoscillatorstrengthisachieved.Thetransmittanceofthehighersidewingreaches98%atatemperatureof179°Candmagneticfieldabove323G.Theexperimentalresultscoincidewiththetheoreticalpredictionsin1982and1995,whichwerenotrealizedinexperimentsforoverthreedecades.Duetoitshightransmittance,highaccuracy,andnarrowlinewidth,the459nmFADOFcanbeappliedinunderwateropticalcommunications,thebuildingofactiveopticalclocks,andlaserfrequencystabilizationinactiveopticalclocks.
