简介:Airentrappedinliquidmetalduringthemoldfillingprocessseriouslyaffectsthecastingquality,thusitisimportanttotrackitsbehaviorinthemoldcavity.Aliquid-gastwo-phaseflowmodelisdevelopedtodescribethemoldfillingprocessandpredicttheairentrapmentdefect.ThemodelisbasedonthecombinationofSOLAandLevelSetMethod.ThepressureandvelocityfieldsarecalculatedbySOLA,andtheinterfacemovementissimulatedbyLevelSetmethodasthemostcommoninterfacetrackingmethodinrecentyears.Inordertovalidatethefeasibilityofthemodel,theliquid-gastwo-phasesimulationresultsweretestedbythebrokendamproblemandtheS-shapedexperiment.ComparisonbetweentheexperimentsandsimulationresultsshowthatLevelSetmethodmightbeaverypromisingtoolintwo-phaseflowsimulationduringthemoldfillingprocess.
