简介:Thisstudyexploresreasonsfortherandomoccurrenceofstampingcracksduringtheproductionofpureironmagneticshieldingcovers.Scanningelectronmicroscopyandenergyspectrumareusedtoobservecrackswithinparts,andresultsshowsignificantbrittlefracturemorphologywithchunksofmanganesesilicateandaluminumsilicateinclusionspresentinthefracturesurface.Thechemicalcomposition,mechanicalproperties,andmicrostructurearealsoanalyzedforacorrespondingbatchofcoldrolledpureironsheet.Theoxygencontentofthematerialisfoundtobehigh,resultingintherandomdistributionofalargeamountoflongchainmanganesesilicateandaluminumsilicateinclusionsalongtherollingdirection,whichcorrespondstoinclusionsfoundonthefracturedsurface.Thestampingcracksarethusassumedtobecausedbytherandomlydistributedchainofinclusionswithinthecoldrolledsheet.Itissuggestedthattheamountofdeoxidizerusedshouldbemorecarefullycontrolledtodecreasetheinclusioncontentsandtothusavoidtherecurrenceofsuchdefects.
简介:Themicrostructuralcharacteristicsandformabilityattheedgesoflowcarbonpickledsteelsheetshavebeeninvestigatedbasedonthegenerationofearingandcrackingdefectswhiledrawing.Themicrostructureoftheedgefeaturescoarsegrainsandmixedsizedgrains.Thestrengthofthesheetedgeisslightlylowerthanthatatthecenter.Besides,theformabilityisobviouslyworsened.Theplasticstrainratiosalongthelongitudinalandtransverseorientationsare0.31and0.6,respectively,withdistinctanisotropy.Theplasticstrainratioattheedgeisobviouslylowerthanthatatthemiddleofthesteelsheet.Theobservedmicrostructuralcharacteristicsandmechanicalpropertiesattheedgeofthesteelsheetcanbeattributedtothelowerrollingtemperatureinthetwo-phaseregionofpro-eutectoidferriteandaustenite.Thesedifferencesinmicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesattheedgeofthesteelsheetleadtothegenerationofearingandcrackingdefectswhiledrawing.Themicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesattheedgeoflowcarbonpickledsteelsheetscanbeimprovedviatheoptimizationoftherollingprocessandtheadjustmentofchemicalcomposition.

简介:Equalchannelangularpressing(ECAP)processingandannealingwereappliedtotheAZ31magnesiumalloysheetstoevaluatethepotentialimprovementinthemechanicalpropertiesandformability.TheECAPexperimentwasconductedat300℃inadiehavinganincludedangleof90obetweentwochannelsbytheBCZroutewiththesheetsrotatedby90°aboutthenormalaxisofplateplane.Thetensiletestsandconicalcuptestswereconductedatvarioustemperaturesfrom20to250℃.Theexperimentalresultsindicatedthatimprovingtheworkingtemperaturescouldleadtothesoftinthematerialandtheenhancementofductility.Comparatively,theECAPedAZ31alloysheetsshowedtheloweryieldstrengthandsmallerconicalcupvalue(CCV)thantheunECAPedcounterpartintheroomtemperature.Thedifferenceinyieldstrengthbetweenthembecamesmallintheelevatedtemperature,buttheECAPedsamplesstillhadthesmallerCCVvalue,implyingtheimprovedformability.ThetextureoftheAZ31alloysheetscouldbemodifiedbyECAPandthedecreaseintheyieldstrengthandmoreuniformdeformationrealizedinthematerial,sotheformabilityofAZ31alloysheetswasimproved.
