  • 简介:Inthispaper,weconductedanumericalanalysisonthebottom-hingedflap-typeWaveEnergyConvertor(WEC).Thebasicmodel,implementedthroughthestudyusingANSYS-AQWA,hasbeenvalidatedbyathree-dimensionalphysicalmodelofapitchingverticalcylinder.Then,asystematicparametricassessmenthasbeenperformedonstiffness,damping,andWECdirectionagainstanincomingwaverose,resultinginanoptimizedflap-typeWECforaspecificspotinthePersianGulf.Here,stiffnessistunedtohaveanear-resonanceconditionconsideringthewaverose,whiledampingismodifiedtocapturethehighestenergyforeachdevicedirection.Moreover,suchsetsofspecificationshavebeencheckedatdifferentdirectionstopresentthebestcombinationofstiffness,damping,anddeviceheading.Ithasbeenshownthatforarealcondition,includingdifferentwaveheights,periods,anddirections,itisveryimportanttoimplementthemethodologyintroducedheretoguaranteedeviceperformance.
