简介：Inliterature,nonlineartravelingwavesinelasticcircularrodshaveonlybeenstudiedbasedonsinglepartialdifferentialequation(pde)models,andhereweconsidersuchaproblembyusingamoreaccuratecoupled-pdemodel.WederivetheHamiltonianfromthemodelequationsforthelongfinite-amplitudewaveapproximation,analyzehowthenumberofsingularpointsofthesystemchangeswiththeparameters,andstudythefeaturesofthesesingularpointsqualitatively.Variousphysicallyacceptablenonlineartravelingwavesarealsodiscussed,andcorrespondingexamplesaregiven.Inparticular,wefindthatcertainwaves,whichcannotbecourltedbythesingle-equationmodel,canarise.
