ToovercomethelimitationoflowimagesignalswingrangeandlongresettimeinfourtransistorCMOSactivepixelimagesensor,achargepumpcircuitispresentedtoimprovethepixelresetperformance.Thechargepumpcircuitconsistsoftwostageswitchcapacitorserialvoltagedoubler.Cross-coupledMOSFETswitchstructurewithwellcloseandopenperformanceisusedinthesecondstageofthechargepump.Thepixelresettransistorwithgatevoltagedrivenbyoutputofthepumpworksinlinearregion,whichcanaccelerateresetprocessandcompleteresetisachieved.Thesimulationresultsshowthatoutputofthechargepumpisenhancedfrom1.2to4.2Vwithvoltageripplelowerthan6mV.Thepixelresettimeisreducedto1.14nsindark.Imagesmearduetonon-completelyresetiseliminatedandtheimagesignalswingrangeisenlarged.ThechargepumpissuccessfullyembeddedinaCMOSimagesensorchipwith0.3×106pixels.
