A class of fully third-order accurate projection methods for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations

摘要 Inthispaper,afullythird-orderaccurateprojectionmethodforsolvingtheincompressibleNavier-Stokesequationsisproposed.Toconstructthescheme,acontinuousprojectionprocedureisfirstlypresented.Wethenderiveasufficientconditionforthecontinuousprojectionequationstobetemporallythird-orderaccurateapproximationsoftheoriginalNavier-Stokesequationsbymeansofthelocaltruncation-error-analysistechnique.Thecontinuousprojectionequationsarediscretizedtemporallyandspatiallytothird-orderaccuracyonthestaggeredgrids,resultinginafullythird-orderdiscreteprojectionscheme.Thepossibilitytodesignhigher-orderprojectionmethodsisthusdemonstratedinthepresentpaper.Aheuristicstabilityanalysisisperformedonthisprojectionmethodshowingtheprobabilityofitsbeingstable.Thestabilityofthepresentschemeisfurtherverifiedthroughnumericaltests.Thethird-orderaccuracyofthepresentprojectionmethodisvalidatedbyseveralnumericaltestcases.
