WheneverSpringFestivalisaroundthecorner,everyfamilyisbusypastingcalligraphiccoupletsandexquisitepapercuttingsonitsdoorsandwindows.Buttheartistryofwindowpapercuttingsismarkedbyoriginalityinconceptionandboldindesign.Oncepaper-cuttingsaremounted,theyareindeedadorable.Recentlythesepapercuttingshavebecomeevermorepopularamongforeignfriends,whoregardthemassomethingworthyofcollectingandkeeping.TheUnitedNationsEducational,ScientificandCulturalOrganization(UNESCO)announcedin2001inParis,FrancethefirstProclamationofMasterpiecesoftheOralandIntangibleHeritageofHumanity.TheMinistryofCultureandChineseArtResearchInstitutehaveidentifiedpapercuttingasoneofthefiveinventoriestoberecommendedtoUNESCO.
