摘要
Addingdampersisacommonlyadoptedseismicriskmitigationstrategyformodernbuildings,andthecorrespondingdesignprocedureofdampershasbeenwellestablishedbytheChineseBuildingCode.Eventhoughalltypesofdampersaredesignedbythesameprocedure,actualseismicperformanceofthebuildingmaydifferfromonetotheothers.Inthisstudy,anine-storybenchmarksteelbuildingisestablished,andthreedifferentandtypicaltypesofdampersaredesignedaccordingtotheChineseBuildingCodetorealizestructuralvibrationcontrolunderstrongearthquakeexcitation.Theseismicresponseoftheprototypebuildingequippedwithaviscoelasticdamper,viscousdamperandbuckling-restrainedbrace(BRB)subjectedto10earthquakerecordsarecalculated,andIncrementalDynamicAnalysis(IDA)isperformedtodescribeprogressivedamageofthestructureunderincreasingearthquakeintensity.Intheperspectiveoffragility,itshowsthattheviscoelasticdamperhasthehighestcollapsemarginratio(CMR),andtheviscousdamperprovidesthebestdriftcontrol.BoththeBRBandviscoelasticdamperscaneffectivelyreducetheflooraccelerationresponsesinthemid-risebuilding.
