Myringitiscanbeacuteorchronic.Thoughtheycommonlypresentwitheardischargewithorwithoutpain,theetiologyandthemanagementprinciplesdiffer.Granularmyringitisgenerallyisanexternalearpathologyextendingtotympanicmembraneandpresentaspainlessotorrhea,whereasthebullousmyringitisiscommonlyassociatedwithacuteinflammationofmiddleearcleftandpresentwithsevereearpain.Thisliteraturereviewdiscussestheclinicalaswellasthetherapeuticaspectsoftheseinflammatoryconditions.
