摘要
Contextisacomplexelementaroundlanguageteachingandlearningsincetheapplicationoflanguageisalwaysinfluencedbythecontext.Itiswellknownthatthesamesentenceindifferentcontextsmayhavequitedifferentmeanings,sotocorrectlyunderstandwhatotherssaid,contextmattersalot.Contextiscertainlyseenasacoreintheorganisationoflanguagesothatplentyofresearchersdevotetotheresearchofcontextinlanguage.Malinowski(1923)putsforwardstheconceptionof‘context’anddividesthecontextintosituationandpractice.Afterwards,DurantiandGodwin(1992)definedthecontextas‘anframethatsurroundstheeventbeingexaminedandprovidesresourcesforitsappropriateinterpretation’anddetailedthecontexttobecomesetting,behaviouralenvironment,languageascontextandextra-situationalcontext.Thisisamorecomprehensivedefinitionandclassificationstocontext.
