摘要
Inordertostrictlysolvetheproblemofpersistentcurrentinone-dimensionalmesoscopicmetalrings,amodelwithaperfectringcoupledtoanexternalreservoirbyafour-leadjunctionisintroducedtoindependentlydescribeinelasticacattering.Thejunctionisexpressedbya4×4S-matrix,whichisverysimilartothatusedbyBüttikerinsequentialtunnelling.SincetheS-matrixisunitary,thecurrentconservationkeepsantomatically,Sincethequadrupletofthematrixproblemcanbereducedintotwotopologicallyseparatedoublets,itgivesasimpleandelegantmethodcomparedwiththeformerdescriptionwitha3×3matrix.
