RecentlyalowcostcookingdevicefordevelopingandemergingcountrieswasdevelopedatKITincooperationwiththecompanyBoschundSiemensHausgerteGmbH.Afterconstructinganinnovativebasicdesignfurtherdevelopmentwasrequired.Numericalinvestigationswereconductedinordertoinvestigatetheflowinsidethecombustionchamberofthestoveundervariationofdifferentgeometricalparameters.Beyondtheperformanceimprovementafurtherreasonoftheinvestigationswastoratetheeffectsofmanufacturingtoleranceproblems.InthispaperthenumericalinvestigationofaplantoilstovebymeansofRANSsimulationwillbepresented.Inordertoreducethecomputationalcostsdifferentmodelreductionstepswerenecessary.Thesimulationresultsofthebasicconfigurationcompareverywellwithexperimentalmeasurementsandproblematicbehaviorsoftheactualstovedesigncouldbeexplainedbytheinvestigation.
