Thesynthesisandphasebehaviorofaseriesof4’-alkyloxy-4-hydroxybiphenylswerediscribed.Theeffectsofreactionconditionsontheyieldsofproductswereinvestigated.Thecharacterizationsofthermotropicliquidcrystallineproductsforthetypeandthermalpropertiesarediscussedthroughtheuseofdifferentialscanningcalorimetry,polarizingmicroscopy.
